There have been a lot of changes to the UI since the original screenshots were uploaded so it was about time that the page should reflect the current look on the application. Check them out here to see the new theme and features: http://kontrollsoft.com/screenshots

One of the most important (if not *the* most important) aspects of a MySQL monitoring system is to monitor the disk I/O utilisation. In particular you would want to see the % utilisation of the device that your datadir was running on and graph that over time so you can see at what point in the future it’s likely to need upgrading, the system tuning or the load on that system reducing. To me, a database server monitoring system which doesn’t look to see how busy the disks are which hold the data seems a bit pointless.

This is being worked on at the moment actually: if you look at the issue list we have that in the queue: http://code.google.com/p/kontrollbase/issues/detail?id=38

Although I would not agree that it is the *most* important aspect. Also something to keep in mind here is that this application is not like one say, Nagios, that monitors availability and OS level utilization. Like the product says it is for monitoring MySQL specifics. Since it is not a full environment monitoring product, but a specialization one, you should be running an OS level monitor anyway – and that one should be watching the disks and the cpu and all of the services like ssh, etc. We will be adding iowait/io-usage to the app but I wouldn’t consider it a deal breaker on using this product, especially since you don’t get the performance reporting with any other tool out there unless you want to pay a license fee.
